thedailywhat: Misquote of the Day: Yeah, so, um… that’s not a compliment. [reddit.] The fact that a show on prime time TV can say this with no reaction from the media is a little upsetting. As for the argument at hand, the show is simply continuing the misunderstanding that faith and reason are at odds, and one cannot be in existence as long as the other is. This is, plainly put, false. Reason and religion need each other in order to survive. As a religious person myself, I like to believe I am quite reasonable and well studied, to say otherwise is insulting. I would go on now about the proof that reason and faith go hand in hand but for the moment I would like to point out the Church’s opinion on faith and reason as stated by Pope John Paul II in my description.
